About Me...

Welcome to my blog on! Since this one is all about me, I won’t waste any more time in getting to the boring details.

My bio: Semi-Retired, Sampson AFB Vet, BBA-Acctg, part-time consulting, experience in Human Resources, Accounting, Tax and Business Management settings.

I have accounts at Facebook and Twitter. I am originally from upstate New York (Syracuse), having left there in August 1954 at the tender age of 17 to join the Air Force and see the world. After an almost 27 year career in the Personnel career field and attaining the grade of Chief Master Sergeant (E-9), I decided to retire and pursue a degree at Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University) in San Marcos, Texas. I graduated cum laude with a BBA degree - Accounting major - in 1985.

With degree in hand, I then volunteered for a short time at our local Red Cross chapter here in San Antonio. A few months later, I was offered, and accepted, the job of Business Office Director, a job that I held from March 1986 through June 1999, when I assumed another full-time position as Controller for Amicus Communications, L.P. in San Antonio.

At the end of April 2007, I left Amicus to trade the world of work for the more sedate and mundane world of retirement. However, since retirement, I still manage to continue my involvement in the business world by providing periodic consulting services on an as-needed basis whenever possible.

I am married and reside with my wife, Sunnan, in San Antonio. Sunnan is still an active member of the work force and this forces me to function as a house-hubby, a role that I still feel very uncomfortable with but am growing to reluctantly accept!

At any rate, once a bureaucrat, always a bureaucrat it seems! When folks ask what I do now to while away the day, I tell them something is always occupying my attention, so the days just zip by at an almost amazing (and alarming) speed — where did yesterday go?

Before I close, I should mention that I have five adult children from a prior marriage and Sunnan has one from an earlier marriage. So…we are not really alone! It seems that if we should ever run out of anything to do (not likely), our plates could be readily filled at a moment’s notice. Oh, well! Such is life!

Sunnan hails from Korea but no longer has any close relatives there. Her older sister and her brothers all reside here in the United States. As for myself, I have a younger brother and two younger sisters (I am the eldest) living in or near the Syracuse area. All are married and pursuing their lives with full plates as well! I try to visit them at two-year intervals, timing my visits to the annual reunions of the Sampson AFB Veterans Association.

Enough for now! If you’ve read this far, you are either a close relative or a hopeless insomniac! At any rate, cheers, my friend! And please feel free to stop by again!
